Helpin' his sister out

Ty brushing her hair with a Star Wars action figure

 Her hair is done!
Ty asked if I could put the remaining hair in a pony tail because "it would look silly and a little scary if there wasn't one there."

I love both of them so much! Seriously, cutest siblings ever!

Cute things Ty says

Ty: "Mom, can you flatten my sheets please."
Me: "Okay Ty. But it's really late and you should be sleeping."
Ty: "It's not fair that I have to sleep by myself and you get to sleep with Daddy."
Me: "That's because mommy and daddy are married. When you get married you will get to sleep with your wife."
Ty: "Mom, I keep telling you. I am never going to leave you so I will never be getting married. I guess, unless she wants to come live with all of us."

"Mommy, guess what I did to my sister"

I love taking showers. I love taking hot hot showers and just having the water  hit me while I am laying in the tub. Man... I miss those days. Now, showers are 4 minutes max. Some days it is a triumph if I have a shower before noon. On Friday, I took my 4 minute shower and as I was getting out Ty comes in and says "Mommy, guess what I did to my sister." I panic and run over to see her and there she is with a Darth Vader mask by her. Ty explains that he put the mask on her and she loved it. He says she is the best sister ever.

I love my kids.

35 weeks!

I'm sure I will be saying this every week but 35 weeks pregnant sounds a little scary! This pregnancy has gone by so fast!! I can't believe in 5 weeks (or less) we will be seeing our little girl! So many things have changed within the past two weeks. First off, we decided on a name....
Gabriella Marie and Ella for short.
Her name has been a toss up for some time. However, Tyler has stood by this name and finally after testing out the name with our last name it clicked and was perfect. We picked Marie because we wanted to represent our mother's, who are very important to us. My mother in law's name is Maria and my mom's middle name is Maria (my grandma's name is Maria as well). However, Tyler and I didn't like the sound of Gabriella Maria. So we changed it to Marie.
Now, that the name was finally picked we have been able to work on her nursery. Hopefully in a few days we should be able to post lots of pictures of her nursery!
We had our hospital tour last week and it was such a great experience. The hospital is GORGEOUS! It was just remodeled and the rooms are beautiful! I was so pleased with where we will be bringing Gabriella into this world. Ty was very good throughout the tour and loved seeing all of the rooms and talk about the baby. It was nice because they were very attentive towards him and made sure he was interested throughout the whole tour. Although, he was a little bummed that she wasn't coming right there. I guess we got his hopes up a little lol
The diaper bag is fully packed! It has been 4 years since I have had a newborn so I completely forgot everything that needs to go inside. Ty is so easy now and all I bring are snacks for him and we are set. So because I couldnt remember what to put in one I had to go on multiple websites to make sure we had everything and look up different tips.
I wanted to make sure we have everything done by the 2nd of April. Sounds a little ridiculous to get everything done so early but Ty was early and we were not prepared at all. We didn't even have the car seat in the car or ready at all for him to come. Luckily, I am not nearly as busy as I was with him so I am very fortunate to get all of this done early. Just in case, Ella decides to make her arrival early! So now that I am 35 weeks, I thought it would be acceptable to install the car seat base. Then, I wanted to make sure the car seat fit in well (it does) and it looks so cute :) While putting the car seat in, the canopy part was completely covering the car seat and Ty said, "Mommy, you need to lift it up. She can't see me. She wants to see me cause she loves me." It was sooo cute! This little boy is so excited for his little sister.
Now, the stuff we need to do. I need to pack my hospital bag, pack Tyler's hospital bag (which is just some toiletries, snacks and cash) and Ty's overnight bag. Most likely, when I go into labor we will be dropping him off at my parents since they live so close so we want to make sure he has all of the essentials! Luckily, we live so close to the hospital so if we forget anything it won't be too difficult to go home and get it. And basically that's it. Hopefully... lol

"Love you like a love song baby...."

Ty is IN LOVE with Selena Gomez. Everytime he sees a picture of her he will scream, "That's my girl." We were grocery shopping and there were Selena Gomez Go-gurts from her show Wizards of Waverly Place. Of course, we had to get them because he was just so excited. But now, we have 7 left with the male characters on them that he refuses to eat. Why aren't they being eaten?? Because Ty says they aren't his girl....
This is also his favorite song
Ohhh, my little boy and his first crush :)

Cute things Ty says :)

I was walking a little funny and Ty asked what was wrong. I told him my foot fell asleep and it was tingling. So he tells me to sit down, cover my ears and proceeds to scream at my foot saying, "WAKE UP!!!"

"I freaking love you Daddy and I freaking love this juice"

About 80% of the time, Tyler is wonderful about knowing when I am stressed and need a break. Monday was one of those days for sure. So being the wonderful guy he is, he took Ty to get a Jamba Juice. Apparently, that will be their new daddy-son bonding place because Ty is now IN LOVE with them.

Tyler said that Ty told him, " I freakin love you, Daddy and I freakin love my juice" over and over again.

Lesson of a mother

I found tickets on Living Social for 50 % Oakland Zoo lights. It was such a deal and I was so glad we jumped on them. Ty loves the zoo but now we had the opportunity to go at night and see Christmas lights which is Ty's favorite! My in laws decided to go to Chilis before and invited us. Ty didn't have a nap and restaurants are so not my thing with a toddler when no nap has been taken but we went hoping for the best. He was pretty good while we waited for them to meet us there until the food came. So I took Ty outside and tried to calm him down to no avail. By the time he calmed himself down everyone was already done eating.I wasn't feeling well which made everything worse but well, the life of a mother.

We went to the zoo and Ty was very excited to see all of the lights. We also saw some animals when we rode the train, which was a real treat! he had quite a few freak outs but really enjoyed seeing the lights. We came home, put the cranky little boy to bed and wanted to relax until bedtime. Then about an hour after we put him to bed he wakes up screaming that his leg hurt. I laid in bed and cuddled him and Tyler tries calming him down. Ty then tells daddy he can leave and play video games because he is okay now. So Tyler gets up to leave and I ask Ty if I can leave too and he says no. I ask him why and he says, "because you my mommy and I love you."

In that very instant all of the drama and stress from the hours before washed away. The whining, kicking, screaming, pouting, yelling and anger just left me. Dealing with a three year old day in and day out and being a constant playmate wears me out sometimes. Being pregnant on top of that and sick with the flu just puts me in my place sometimes. These sweet little moments with my son makes everything all worthwhile. I don't have a perfect child. At times, he screams, whines and pouts. But there are moments when he is absolutely the most perfect human being in the whole world.

The Nutcracker and how we lost blankie..again

I found out at church that they were showing the Nutcracker Ballet at the temple and I was soo excited to bring Ty to it. My husband wasn't as excited as I was so I decided to invite my mother in law and her mom. It was such a treat! Surprisingly, Ty did AMAZING! However, I felt bad for people sitting around us because he would constantly ask my mother in law, "What is happening? What is next? Who is that?" It was hilarious.

Ohhh, and she got him a little Nutcracker ( because he broke mine) so he could hold it when we were watching the ballet. He loved seeing the Nutcracker part but as soon as he turned into the Nutcracker prince he flipped out. He wanted to know what happened and why he turned into the "boy" so my mother in law explained and he goes, "nutcracker not real?" and kicks his nutcracker. Not too worry, the Nutcracker is still very important to him and that has been forgotten.

Now onto how we lost Blankie... again! After the ballet we walked around the temple grounds and looked at the beautiful Christmas lights. Then we walked to the car and got some hot chocolate on the way home. When we got home, we got him ready for bed and that's when the dreaded question was asked," Where is blankie?" I looked all around and couldn't find it anywhere. My mother in law took us so I assumed I left it in her car. No worries, we would see her the next day and I could get it then. We told Ty, Blankie was fine and with grandma. I called Maria and she said it wasn't in her car. My heart dropped. She thought that they had left it on the couch in the foyer. I had just about the worst feeling that whole night so I laid in bed with him and just held him. He woke up at about 3 am screaming for his blanket. I tried to soothe him but he was just so upset. As soon as we woke up I called the temple and asked if anyone had returned a blanket. I was soo excited when she said yes until I heard, " It's a soft blue blanket with stars." She then said nothing else was turned in and to call later.

I'm extremely impatient so I put Ty in the car and we were headed to the temple. When I was driving Ty tells me that if we don't find it he will scream and cry... a lot. Lovely. Now, if only for my sanity we better find this dang blanket. We drove around and there was no luck. Earlier, Maria told me that the blanket was in the pictures when we were looking at Christmas lights so it wouldn't be in the foyer but around the lights area. I drove around the parking area and kept saying a quick prayer when right in the middle of two cars there it was all wrapped up in a bush. I was so excited! Like it could not have been put in a better spot! Had it been in front of a car, I probably would not have seen it.

I now have one happy little boy!

19 weeks

So I finished 18 weeks feeling better than ever! I haven't thrown up in a week which has been a blessing. I also feel like I have a ton more energy than ever before. We went to my doctors appointment and I have so far gained 4 lbs. I was at -2 lbs from pre pregnancy weight and then gained six lbs so now I am at 4 lbs. I kinda freaked so I went to the gym the next day. I started following a better exercise and eating habit for myself. I haven't been craving anything at all. Which has been bothering my husband because he is waiting for my late night cravings. That was probably his favorite part of my 1st pregnancy. Tyler and I have gotten over the semi shock of having a little girl. We are getting more and more excited each day. The child care lady at the gym asked Ty if he was excited to have a little sister that looked like him and he said, "She won't look like me... she will be tiny with a bow in her hair!"

"Mommy, I don't want her to hurt you"

Last Sunday, the Discovery channel was showing "Curiosity:Life Before Birth" and Ty came out and wanted to watch it. It wasn't graphic and showed how the baby develops during the whole process. It was incredibly fascinating. He loved watching how the tummy got bigger and the baby sleeping when inside the tummy.

Then they covered the delivery part. Ty was so intrigued and yet so confused. He kept asking why the baby was hurting the mommy and that he didn't want the baby hurting me. So Tyler and I explained in a 3 year old way how it hurts for only a short while and then the baby comes out and everything is fine. So before we put him back in bed he prayed that his little sister wouldn't hurt mommy too much. It was the sweetest little remark. Ty has been so compassionate during the pregnancy. When I am throwing up he rushes over to me and pats my back and tells me everything is going to be okay. Tyler likes to shield him and draw his attention elsewhere but Ty will say, "I need to see my sweetie heart."

I am just so in love with this little boy. He drives me insane but he has a heart full of gold :)

Cute things Ty says :)

As soon as Ty meets anyone he likes to inform them I have a baby in my tummy. We went to my 14 week doctor's appointment and Ty begins to tell the doctor that I have a baby in my tummy. The doctor informs Ty that he already knew. So Ty replies with,

"Ohhh I know. You did it"

Cute things Ty says :)

I'm pretty sure we have by far, the sweetest little boy... ever! Every morning I wake up to him saying,

"Good Morning my 'Sweetie-heart' I love you"
What makes this even better is he caresses my face while saying it to me. There is something so sweet about a love between a mother and son.

It is the BEST way to start off the day :) I just love this little boy!

Cute things Ty says

Ty LOVES saying his prayers. It makes both Tyler and I so happy when we hear our little boy speak to our Heavenly Father. He likes to bless our family and it usually goes like this:

"Please bless gamma, gampa, other gamma and gampa, big gamma and gampa, lita my best friend, mommy, daddy that he won't get hurt at work, papa and mima"

Then he has been saying, "Ohhh no, I forgot someone. Hmmm, let me think"

It has been like a 3-5 minute prayer but we totally don't mind. We are so glad he is actually taking the time to think about what he wants to pray about. It is the cutest thing ever!!

Cute things Ty says

" Come on mommy... I need another brownie. I have none"

This is what Ty looks like when he BEGS and tries to convince his parents to give him more of something, typically sweets.

Cute things Ty says

At the gym, there is a woman who is pregnant that Ty just loves, which is why I think he has been bringing this up! For the past few days he has been telling me he needs a baby. So very innocently, I have been explaining that Mommy's have babies in their tummy not little boys. He is a little upset that he is unable to have a baby in his tummy but is slowly starting to understand.

Today this is how our conversation went.

Ty: " MOMMY, you FORGOT!!!!" Then he starts to panic and whimper.

I asked him what I forgot and he says, " You forgot to make me a baby for me to play with." I told him Mommy and Daddy haven't made a baby yet. He then says, "Will you share the baby with me?"

Me: " Yes, Tyler it will be your brother or sister. "

Ty: " My baby brother misses me Mommy, please get him."

It was the absolute cutest thing ever!! He is dead set on having a brother and that this "brother" misses him. It cracks me up.. I love this little guy :)

Cute things Ty says

I just dropped my water bottle on the floor and he instantly picks it up and I say, "Thanks babe" which then he replies, "I not babe... I Tyler. Daddy is babe"

This little boy always makes me smile!
