Reading

When I was younger, my mom always had my older sister and me go to the library and participate in their summer reading program. Because of that, I have always loved reading. We started Ty on the summer reading program in our town and have been visiting our local library at least once a week. Ty loves it. He loves picking out what books he wants to read and play with the little toys they have. So, recently I have been getting into reading as well. I started reading :

I obsessively followed the Casey Anthony Murder Trial and they constantly compared her to Diane Downs. I was interested in reading more about her and found a book about her at our library. It was crazy. In short, she is a mother who was convicted of shooting her three children and murdering one. She still believes she was wrongly convicted.

I am an extremely paranoid person. Sometimes it drives my husband crazy but this book has pushed my paranoid to the extreme. It is so sad that there are people like him who have a complete disregard for life.

Soo, after reading two very heavy and crazy books, Tyler pleaded with me to read a happier book. I think he was a bit concerned....

So I am currently reading,
And I LOVE it! It definitely provides the boost I need on certain days. It's so unfortunate that stay at home moms need to always justify their choices. Nobody questions why a woman is a nurse, teacher or banker. We aren't on any state insurance, food program or relying on our church or family for anything so why the heck does it matter if I stay home? I highly recommend this book! It will put a bounce in your step and a smile on your face :)

Trip with Daddy

A few weeks ago we found out Daddy was going on a business trip about 1.5 hrs away for 5 days. Tyler and I have only been apart about a day so it was definitely going to be different. Not too mention, Ty was not going to like being away from his daddy. I had to dog sit on Tuesday and Friday so we thought it would be fun to go late on Tuesday and come home Thursday night. It was a nice little mini vacation--at least for Ty and I. I'm not sure Daddy loved it as much because his quiet hotel room was quickly thrashed with toys and clothes. But oh well. :)

I was able to meet up with my friend Lisa and her daughter, Aubrey and my cousin's wife and two cute kids. I wasn't prepared for the weather to be so much hotter than where we lived but it was nice to have back to back playdates!

Ty and Olivia

Ty meeting 11 day old Brody! He is such a sweet little guy!

Ty swimming in the hotel pool. He LOVED it!

After playing with Aubrey all day we came back to the hotel to take a nap. As soon as Daddy got off work he jumped in bed and joined us!

On our way to visit Dad!

Ty wanted to read Aubrey a book before naptime!

Meeting Lisa & Aubrey

Strange to think I have been friends with someone for over 5 years and we have never met. Lisa and I met on Myspace about 5 years ago when we were both waiting for missionaires. She married hers and I married my childhood friend. We were very close and were able to help each other through different trials we experienced. When she found out she was pregnant with little Aubrey, we both thought how fun it would be if they ended up dating. I think our plan is working. I went to visit her and Ty was just in love with her. Soo, I think our plan is working... hahah

It was so nice to finally meet the person I have been texting and following on facebook. She is a dear friend of mine and just as awesome as I expected!

Cute things Ty says

Ty LOVES saying his prayers. It makes both Tyler and I so happy when we hear our little boy speak to our Heavenly Father. He likes to bless our family and it usually goes like this:

"Please bless gamma, gampa, other gamma and gampa, big gamma and gampa, lita my best friend, mommy, daddy that he won't get hurt at work, papa and mima"

Then he has been saying, "Ohhh no, I forgot someone. Hmmm, let me think"

It has been like a 3-5 minute prayer but we totally don't mind. We are so glad he is actually taking the time to think about what he wants to pray about. It is the cutest thing ever!!
