New happenings with our house
I have also been looking for a new desk. Craigslist once again hooked me up. I guess, it's not really craigslist I should thank but all of the wonderful people who donate things to young families like us :) We were able to score this wonderful desk which is exactly what I have been looking for. As a look around at our furniture I swear everything we have is second half. Our couch, dining table, patio swing, patio chairs and table, desk(now),our old desk, guest bed (my old bed), Ty's bed, dressers, lamps. I love it. :) One day, we will be able to buy our stuff brand new, but for now, owning our own house and being able to live off one income is worth getting second hand stuff :)

And our family wanted to wish our Scot a very Happy Birthday :) Scot, you are the very best father in law, step father, and gampa we could ask for. We love you and appreciate all you do for our family. You always have a smile on your face and your happiness is infectious! Thanks for being an amazing guy and we hope you had an amazing day!! Love you so much!!!

AFTER
(Ty LOVES it)
Cute!!
by Jennifer Johnson
A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.

Return of "Blankie"
Tyler wanted to go look at dogs at the shelter about 15 minutes from our house. So after he got off work we packed up the car and drove to the animal shelter. Daddy was ordered to carry blankie while Ty wanted to look at the animals. We looked around and left 10 minutes later. Tyler then wanted to drive 40 minutes, where his mom lives to see a shelter there. I objected because I wasn't in the mood but Tyler persisted and we drove anyways. We drove to the area where they were having the dog fair and what do you know... it was canceled because of the rain. Yup, we wasted ALL that gas and time to drive to an event that was canceled. I was tired and hungry so we decided to get some food. We ate a yummy dinner then left the restaurant and packed Ty in the car. It was then, that Ty asked where "blankie" was. I looked in the car and my purse and it was no where to be found. My first thought was that we left it in the restaurant and I told Tyler to run in and go check around. He checked, came back 2.5 seconds later and said it wasn't in there. I was frantic. This little boy is totally in love with it and my heart broke. I start freaking out but trying to act calm so he didn't start freaking out. I reassured him we would find it which calmed him down but inside I realized my reassurance might not help.
At that moment, Tyler tells me he left it at the shelter. He said he must of dropped it when he was looking at one of the dogs. So we drive back to the shelter and luckily people were still in there so I ran inside and asked about if they had seen a blanket--I mean fitted sheet. I run around and they show me their laundry section and it's not in there. They said I could check the kennels for the dogs and it's not in there. Tyler was checking garbage's outside and in the grass area and we still couldn't find it. My heart sank. And that's when Ty lost it. He kept asking where she was and how she was missing him. And how she was oh so lonely. It broke my heart! I kept praying that we would find it or that Ty wouldn't freak out. I think I prayed harder than I ever had in my life.
That's when the weirdest prompting came to me to call the restaurant. So I did. And the man said it was there!! He said they found it after we left and didn't throw it away because they thought it was important because why else would someone bring a fitted sheet to a restaurant.
So we drove an hour back to the restaurant and Ty got his "blankie." He was beyond thrilled and just hugged and kissed it. Tyler and I felt so awful so we treated him to frozen yogurt. :)

Tomatoes
One of my most favorite parts of summer is having a garden. We didn't have good sun at our last place and this was definitely not an issue with this house. We have so many areas of sun where we can plant tons of things! When we moved in we found out we had an apple tree, lemon tree and orange tree. So far, we have planted tomatoes, cantaloupe, green & red bell peppers, jalapenos, and habaneros. I want to plant blueberries, strawberries, and watermelon. We'll see. :)1sr overnighter in our house:)
