Day 1 of pulling weeds

That lovely pictures above shows a portion of our backyard covered in WEEDS and/or CRABGRASS. Seriously, there is noooo grass in there. It's awful. It drives us insane. We have been in our first home since October and we have done absolutely nothing about it. Well, until now! I have decided this will be my next project. I have finally finished painting all the rooms, re doing bathrooms, kitchens, basically all I can do without major remodeling. Soooo, I am pulling all the weeds and then put seed down. We originally wanted to lay sod but our lot is over 11,000 sq ft and it is going to be quite pricey so we figure we will try the seed route and if it doesn't work out we will do sod next year!

So today was my first day pulling weeds. It was not as bad as I thought. It is starting to look soo much better. It's dirt none the less, but a lot better than the other crap!

The other half will be next Tuesday!

It took about an hour or two. Of course, that included water breaks, switching songs on Pandora, telling water not to chuck the weeds in our neighbors yard, not to throw dirt on me, potty breaks , and NOT to throw the weeds around the yard. This pile looks really small :-/

It was a lot! Seriously!

BTW, this was KILLER exercise. Probably didn't help that it was over 90 degrees but hey, the price you pay to live in Cali!

My new job :)

I LOVE being a stay at home mama. However, the pay- not soo good. Totally worth it, but it's not bringing in the bacon. We want to plan a BIG trip for our 5th Wedding Anniversary in 2013, not to mention eventually expanding our family, I wanted to bring some extra income in so we could start saving more. Instead of putting massive pressure on Tyler to work more overtime I decided to be more creative with my decision. I was thinking of paper route or night jobs somewhere but Tyler was DEAD SET against it. We had been praying for a long time that something would pop up and it did!!

I had been looking at craigslist for free stuff that I could fix up and then I had found a post for dog sitting. I immediately contacted the poster and we met later that week. She explained that she was a nurse and the dog was unable to be by herself for a long period of time. She works 2-3 days a week and every other weekend. We did a trial run last week and we all fell in love with the dog. She lives 3 miles away from us and was commuting 45 minutes so this worked out perfectly for both of us! I will be making wayy more than if I took a minimum wage job for 10-15 hrs a week :) I am soo excited

The Lord does answer prayers and I am so grateful that I can help to loosen the load off my hubby :)

Ty's 1st trip to ER

My darling husband was trying to do me a wonderful favor and take Ty to church since he had some things to do there. It was after 8pm and I offered to put him to sleep so he could do his church stuff but he objected since I had had a rough day with Ty. So I was pleased to do some cleaning and fold laundry. I got a few things done when all of a sudden I get... the call.

"Ty fell and we have to take him to the ER"

My sweet husband is quite the worrier. So I assumed he was just being his normal cautious self and didn't think it was a big deal. A couple years ago, Ty fell against the dresser and we went to my MIL's and she said it didn't need stitches. Well, we aren't that close to just drop by anymore so we headed to the ER in town. There were about 50 people in there. It was ridiculously packed and I was not in the mood to wait. So we try to find an urgent care and of course, they are closed. We go to another hospital in the next town over, literally 10 min away and there are only 2 people waiting. As I start to look at it in the light I realize it definitely needed stitches! Ugh!! All I could think about was the pain. The nurses and doctors were AWESOME!! I am soo excited we will be delivering our next baby there (No, I'm not pregnant!)

Ty needed five stitches and did pretty well until the 3rd or 4th stitch, i forgot. He accidentally moved his head forward and the needle went into his lip. Then he bawled. And of course, I start bawling. I was holding his arms down and he was screaming and asking why. Oh.my.gosh. WORST THING for a mommy.

He is doing great now and loves to show everyone his stitches :) He is such a brave little boy!

Shoppin' for bathing suits!

Since moving to our new ward (meetinghouse) we have met a ton of cool families. We were very blessed to have such warm and welcoming people. Our family have gotten close to one family in particular and we are so thankful! She has invited me to go swimming for the past few weeks but unfortunately, I do not have a bathing suit. I think I lost it in the move or threw it away because I am no longer the same size in high school. I have no clue. I put a bunch of my summer clothes in a bin and none of my bathing suits were in there. Oh well. It was great to be able to get out and go shopping without a little boy telling me it's time to go home!

We went to 4 stores and I was able to find the cutest top at Kohls. We found some really cute clearance bottoms at Target that were $4.00! What a deal!! It was a great night and I am so glad we moved to a new area and found great friends

Swimming here I come!

Cute things Ty says

" Come on mommy... I need another brownie. I have none"

This is what Ty looks like when he BEGS and tries to convince his parents to give him more of something, typically sweets.
