Santa at Church!

We had our Ward Christmas Party tonight, which was super fun! We had breakfast for dinner, something that I love. There were a bunch of different yummy casseroles, fruits, muffins and cookies that we all got to snack on. Plus, we had a guest: Santa!! Ty actually did quite well- it was more like "Uhhh who are you, I'm just gonna stare at you then." It was a great night, now bed time cause we have church bright and early!

I told Ty to stop running with all the boys so he laid down... Weirdo.
"Uhhh Thanks for the candy cane, sir"

Hmmmm, who are you?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our family has a lot to be thankful this year. For starters, we have a healthy, energetic, adorable little boy who keeps us very busy! Tyler has also been blessed to have a great job with overtime and friendly co workers. We also were blessed to get a beautiful townhome that is close to our family and provides us lots of space and fun memories. I am so happy that we have the gospel in our lives which helps us stay grounded and understand the purpose of this life.

We started our day waking up at 10:15 am, Ty must have been VERY tired because that is quite unusual for him to sleep that long. We got ourselves ready and packed our bag for our day full of family! We started off at Tylers grandparents where we met his mom's side of the family and had delcious food!

And then we were off to Tyler's dads Thanksgiving, which happened to be at Tylers step mom's daughter in law (confusing, I know) and we hung out there! No food, but football fun!

Finally we went to my families and ate (again) and then played a bunch of fun games!

Day #15

I am thankful for... Sundays :)

Sundays are just wonderful. No hustle and bustle just church, relaxing and family!

We had family home evening tonight and as always Ty was our entertainment. We read a lesson out of the Ensign ( a church magazine) and we talked about how father/son relationships are important and how to be a better father/son. It was a talk from Elder Ballard from the General Conference Priesthood session. Then we read scriptures as a family and had delicious homemade sugar cookies. I love my men and so grateful for them! Today was amazing!!

Day #9 and 10

I slacked yesterday!

I am thankful for... the church

I am thankful for this wonderful gospel I have. I am so lucky to have the knowledge to know right from wrong and to know how families can be together forever! I am so lucky to have a husband who believes the same as I do and have him want to raise our family in this great church. There are so many misconceptions about the church and if you really want to know the church, just read the Book of Mormon. Instead of talking about how "weird" the church is, find our for yourself! It's so easy to judge the unknown and unfamiliar but it is even harder to do the work and find out the truth. Once you do, you will be so happy and it is soo worth it!! ;-)

Day #8

I am thankful for my mother in law, Maria.

Maria is just the most wonderful person I have ever met. Not only is she a strong woman but she cares about her children and their happiness as much as mother could. She always strives to make her son's happy and help out in any way she can. She encourages them to try harder and to keep on exceeding. Her one fault- is for anyone to attempt to fill her shoes and for me to be the best mother possible to my own son.

Day #7

I am thankful for..... Music

I love music! Music has been such a therapy for me whenever I need it. Whether it be Metallica, Paramore, Britney Spears, Led Zeppelin, to Nirvana.

-Sorry it's short! I forgot an essay was due tonight! Whoops!

Day #6

I am thankful for.... the ability to learn

Although I currently attend a community college it has been nice to take numerous classes to strengthen myself as well as be a better wife and mother. I will be able to teach my son all I know as well as motivate him to get a college degree. With a degree, I can be a better wife by helping my husband should anything happen and I need to take care of our family. I am very thankful to have the opportunity to take online courses and have such a supportive family pushing me along the way!

Day #5

I am thankful ... to be a mother

I am so blessed to have such a beautiful and amazing son. I love being a mother and being able to look at my son and know that I am the person who gave him life who kisses his tears, who is his rock. I am so thankful to have such positive examples of mothers such as my mom, grandma, Tyler's mom, Tyler's grandma, my many aunts, cousins, Jenn Clegg :). These woman are truly inspirational and just exemplify a loving mother.

Tonight we were fortunate to have the Clegg family over for dinner and they brought their "charm and charisma" and it was a wonderful night. My husband got along with my cousin, Steven and Jenn and I are able to bond about being mothers. We were able to share advice, stories and it was a great connection between the two of us.

Tyler got his last week and was VERY happy to get his first ;) The missionaries also got Tyler this really cool holder that he had to throw in my face haha :-) I am very excited to go with all of our family and spend a lovely Saturday at the temple!

Nov 3rd

I am thankful for the ability to pay our bills.

Today I received a call about someone who has not paid one or more of their bills and the collectors are after them. It's unfortunate that some how I am connected to this person and I am getting hassled although it's not me! I am thankful that we are able to pay what we need too. We don't have all of the money to pay for everything we want but we got what we need. I am able to stay at home with my son while my husband busts his butt at work. I thankful for that.

1st Day of November

Each day this month I will post one thing/person I am thankful for. I think it will help me remember each of the many blessings I have and not to reflect on the negative people and things in life.

My Mom

I am thankful for my mom because she is the person who gave me life! She is my reason for existence and I love her very much. Tonight we will be hanging out because both of our husbands are gone so we will be watching Twilight together and sqealing in excitement for Nov 19th! It's time like these I am thankful to live 5 min away from my mom and spend time with her. It is nice that we like the same things and are able to talk about things together. She is always there to give me a kick on the butt or help me when I'm about to go crazzzyy over Ty. I love my mom very much and I am so thankful for all she does for our family!

Romantic Dinner ( Sorta )

Sometimes I want to spruce things up for dinner. I have all of these wonderful dinner ideas and then realize I have to watch my crazy toddler and have zero time to do plan a good dinner. Anyways, I decided to do something really sweet for my husband because he does a lot for our family and works REALLY hard. I made Chicken Cacciatore, homemade garlic bread, and corn.

Our romantic meal for two :) We had candle light, wine glasses and
