Starting our Homebuying Experience

Tyler and I have been tossing around the idea of buying a home for quite a few months. Tyler makes good money to support our family and we would like to add to our family soon. The prices in CA for houses are ridiculously cheap, well cheap for California. So we have been looking at different homes to see what we want/don't want in a home. We are very fortunate to be in the process at 22 years old. We would be so lucky to be able to buy a home as young as we are. We cannot currently buy where we are because what we could afford is a one bedroom shack -- really. So we figure we can move somewhere further, build equity, and have a good down payment if we choose to move back.

We sent all of the necessary paperwork to our lender and found out yesterday we have a few things to take care of before we start. First off, Tyler's mom co- signed a car for him but now he does not own the car. So we need to take Tyler off the car and wait for it to report to the credit bureaus. We also need to get a letter from Sears saying Tyler's overtime is guaranteed. Lastly we want to pay off a couple credit cards. We have been saving up for a down payment but we are now putting more towards paying off credit cards. We paid off 3 yesterday :) So we should be good now! Ugh, credit card debt is awful. Tyler and I made stupid choices and we are now getting ourselves out of stupid debt! I can't wait until the only debt we have is my car and our house :)

So now we wait. We wait to pull our credit in another month showing the paid off credit cards and Tyler off the car. We are very excited and will be blogging about our journey to be first time home buyers :)
